Sunny’s Show was my first ever headlining show that I had set up as a fundraiser for my then-upcoming music video for my song, “Sunny’s Song”. With the help of director, Micah Moore, we set up the entire show at a house in Northridge, CA, using the entire venue to mimic a music festival setup consisting of a section for vendors and a multi-stage setup.
We invited small, local businesses such as “Ariete”, an indie up-and-coming clothing brand and “MellaMakez”, a female-owned jewelry and embroidery store to setup stations to sell their products and promote their businesses to 100+ people.
The opening lineup consisted of two performances by Mia DeAngeles, a sweet singer/songwriter who performed an ethereal acoustic set on the living room stage and Lone Wolf Entertainment, a hardcore, indie rock band with an electric energy on the backyard stage as the sun set. Lastly, I performed on the main garage stage, accompanied by Honey Lavender, with a mix of original songs and covers.
We sold pre-sale tickets at $6 each and on-site tickets at $10 each and raised over $700 just from tickets alone! Additionally, we were able to sell various snacks and water bottles.
I loved the entire process; from the beginning thoughts and ideas of decorating the house to the fruition of the entire project coming to life whilst on stage. With the help and support of my friends, family, and fellow artists, we successfully raised enough money to fund the music video, I was able to fully set up and headline my very first show, and the everyone had a night to remember.
